Let it begin with me

(Jill Jackson / Mark Miller) – circa 1955

“Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step i take
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let ther be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me.

It is Mother’s Day today in the US and I was just sitting outside in the glorious sunshine listening to the birds chirping and fixing up their nests. My thoughts drifted to all people who “mother” and what they actually wish for their loved ones…
Here is my list:

As a Mother, I wish for all children of this world…

…A safe place to live
…Enough good food to eat and water to drink
…Someone who loves them and cares for them
…Enough quality sleep
…Time to Play
…Clothes and Shoes
…At least one good friend who understands them and laughs with them
…Clean Fresh Air and Water
…Not having Adult worries or responsibilities
…People around who protect them
…That they are able to be Children
…Peace in their lifetime.

To all who Mother, bless you.
til next time…Eva
